On todays show we heard from David Utting from the St Albans Symphony Orchestra. The Symphony Orchestra comprises professional and amateur musicians all of a high standard from throughout Hertfordshire and beyond.
Its members include professionally trained musicians, teachers and music college students. The orchestra is developing into one of the UK's leading non-professional ensembles and currently has 60-70 members and they're always on the look out for new players, particluary those that can play string instruments.
The next concert will feature the Verdi Requiem, and is going to be held at St Albans Abbey on the 17th October at 7.30pm. For tickets or for more information on the orchestra, go to www.saso.org.uk
