On the show today we heard from Anna Crompton of Trestle Arts Base. Trestle Arts Base is based in Russett Drive, St Albans and has a rolling programme of plays, classes and community projects. Of special interest is the Story Tent, which is for those up to 6 years old, and is about creating a story based on audience interaction and participation. The event is to take place on Saturday 5th September and is completely free! The theme will be the story of a caterpillar turning into a butterfly and sessions will take place at 10am, 11.30am and 1pm. If you would like your child to take part, give Trestle a call on 01727 850950 or email takingpart@trestle.org.uk. For more information on this and all the other events Trestle have organised you can check out the website at www.trestle.org.uk.
We also heard from Gill Knibbs of a St Albans organisation called the Ver Poets. Ver Poets is a group of around 40 people who meet on the 3rd Friday of each month to enjoy poetry reading, writing and listening. They meet next on Friday 18th September - everyone is welcome.
