Interview with Earthworks, St Albans

Hello!

On the show this afternoon we heard from Emma Eynon from Earthworks in St Albans. Earthworks is a registered charity that offers trainees, often with learning difficulties or mental health problems, work experience and training in horticultural and land-based skills. They have a two-acre site in Hixberry Lane, St. Albans. It is managed on environmental principles and is next open to the public for its Harvest Fair on Sunday 6th September, 12 noon 4 pm. They can also be found selling all kinds of products at the St Albans Farmers Market held in St Peters Street on the second Sunday of each month - the next one being the 9th August, 10am - 3.00pm. Earthworks staff and volunteers work - and learn - with the trainees to maintain the site, with its gardens, tree nursery, vegetable beds, shade tunnels and polytunnel. If you would like to volunteer with Earthworks (they are especially looking for someone with web design skills at the moment) or would like more information, visit the website - www.earthworksstalbans.co.uk

A very interesting interview.

Neil
