Carboot Sale Coming Up and Update to the Theme Tune Challenge

Hello all,

Today on the show we heard from Abbie Harthill from Sainsburys in St Albans. The Sainsburys Staff Association in St Albans have nominated Macmillan Cancer Support as the charity they are currently raising funds for, and they've so far raised £550. They've got a car boot sale planned for Sunday 23rd August at Sainsburys in St Albans, starting at 5pm. The cost per car is £5, and you can set up from 4.30pm.

We also had Rick from Hatfield taking part in our Theme Tune Challenge. He scored a very respectable 9 correct answers, putting him in third place on the leaderboard:

Interview with Hertsmere Inclusive Theatre

Hello everyone,

On the show today we had an interview with Caroline England from Hertsmere Inclusive Theatre. This organisation is an exciting inclusive theatre that gives children and teenagers the opportunity to participate in dance, drama and music in an inclusive environment. Inclusive means that children with special needs / circumstances learn and perform alongside children from mainstream schools. Each individual is valued for their capabilities and their contribution to the group.

If you are between 7 and 18 years old and want to be part of our theatre group, you are invited to come to our weekly workshops on Wednesday evenings at The Bushey Centre.

Interview with Herts Young Homeless Group and Theme Tune Challenge Update

Hello everyone,

On the show today we had an interview with Carolyn Payne from Herts Young Homeless Group. This organisation is an independent charity established in 1998 to provide help for young homeless people in Hertfordshire by providing advice, information and support including family mediation. Herts Young Homeless Group services are open to all 16 - 25 year olds who are homeless or threatened with homelessness.

The organisation also provides emergency accommodation through the Crashpad scheme whereby a person or perhaps family can offer temporary accommodation to a young homeless person. If you would like to help with this scheme, or would like more information, please call 01707 251403. Full training is given and some expenses are paid.
