Credit Union, Theme Tune Challenge Update & Government Petitions!

Hello everyone

On the show today we had Mike from Marshalswick taking part in our Theme Tune Challenge, notching up a score of 7 correct answers, temporarily putting him in joint 3rd position. His glory in the top three was quickly ruined by Chris our Gig Guide guru notching up an incredible score of 15!

Theme Tune Challenge & Cooking Academy

Hi all,

Today we had Douglas from St Albans (landlord of the Farmers Boy pub) playing the Theme Tune Challenge, so here's the latest leaderboard with his score added:

On the programme today we had an interview with Kumud Ghandi of the The Cooking Academy - a unique and innovative cooking school aimed at promoting cookery skills, healthy eating and food awareness.

The Cooking Academy teaches people how to cook every day food, from beginners who want to learn to cook from scratch, those who simply want to develop confidence in the kitchen, to people who are already cooking but want to extend their knowledge and repertoire to learn particular techniques.

The cookery classes cover different types of food from classic British and European right through to Indian, Thai and Japanese. The aim is to introduce you to the advantages of cooking for yourself and enjoying the benefits of freshly made food.

In addition, The Cooking Academy also looks at the science of food - paying attention to the medicinal values of food and why it's good for you.

One cookery course coming up is the 'Food for Freshers' programme - educating teenagers on how to cook fun, nutritious meals on a shoestring budget. The programme, aimed at encouraging students to swap takeouts for cook-ins and pizza for paella, teaches healthy, medicinal and nutritional recipes to enable students to maintain a healthy lifestyle throughout their time at university.
